The Specialist Schools Trust

The Specialist Schools Trust is a newly formed Multi-Academy Trust in Southampton currently comprising Rosewood Free School for pupils aged 2- 25 years with profound and multiple learning difficulties, and Great Oaks School a secondary special school for young people with a wide range of learning difficulties.

The Trust currently supports two schools on five site across the city catering for over 300 children and young people, and employing over 200 staff.  Pupils come to the schools from across Southampton and parts of Hampshire.  SST are currently preparing a bid for a new Free Special School to meet the increased demand for places in our schools.

The schools in the Trust are keen to retain their individual identity whilst finding increasing opportunities to collaborate for the benefit of our communities. The Trust is supported by active and skilled Members, Trustees and Governors. Our schools strive for innovative, creative, child centred and relevant approaches to learning.  We aim to support our communities through honesty, integrity and respectfulness. We are places of safety for young people that foster a climate of nurture and wellbeing.
